As citizens we have the power to decide what future we want to build. By separating waste properly, by handing it over clean and dry to waste pickers, we recognize their work, make their job easier and prevent valuable materials from ending up polluting our soils and rivers.
Our association is made up of urban waste pickers with experience, commitment and a vocation for service. We travel streets, neighborhoods and eco-points, collecting paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, metals and other recoverable materials. But we also provide environmental education, strengthen communities and defend the right to decent work.
Your role is essential. Separating waste well costs no more, but it is worth so much. It is a simple way to care for the planet, but also to tell a waste picker: “I value your work.” It is being aware of others and building citizenship from respect.
